Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) say: "Whoever seizes a span of land unjustly, Allah Almighty will place around his neck a collar as heavy as seven earths on the Day of Resurrection." The narrator named Mu'ammar states: This hadith has reached us from Zuhri, in which these words are present: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever is killed while protecting his wealth is a martyr." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): This narration has been transmitted by the trustworthy and precise students of Zuhri, and all of them agree on narrating this hadith from Zuhri, from Talhah bin Abdullah, from Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him). Only Mu'ammar has differed; he mentioned a narrator named Abdur Rahman bin Sahl between Talhah bin Ubaidullah and Sayyiduna Sa'id bin Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him). I fear that he may have been mistaken in this matter, because Mu'ammar has narrated these words in this narration, which he received from Zuhri, so it is possible that he heard this narration from one of Zuhri's students. Therefore, the mind inclines more towards the other narrators.
