Hadith 3146

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : أَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، عَلَى النِّسَاءِ حَيْثُ بَايَعَهُنَّ أَنْ لا يَنُحْنَ ، فَقُلْنَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ نِسَاءً أَسْعَدْنَنَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَنُسْعِدُهُنَّ فِي الإِسْلامِ ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا إِسْعَادَ فِي الإِسْلامِ ، وَلا شِغَارَ فِي الإِسْلامِ ، وَلا عَقْرَ فِي الإِسْلامِ ، وَلا جَلَبَ ، وَلا جَنَبَ وَمَنِ انْتَهَبَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to take this pledge from women during the oath of allegiance that they would not wail (lament loudly for the dead). The women said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), in the time of ignorance, some women supported us, so that after accepting Islam we would support them. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There is no place for (supporting) wailing in Islam. There is no place for shighar (exchange marriage) in Islam. There is no place for ‘aqr (sacrificing camels at the graves of the deceased) in Islam, and there is no place for jalb and janb in Islam. And whoever snatches something, he has no relation with us.
