Hadith 3140

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ دَرَّاجًا أَبَا السَّمْحِ ، حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَأْكُلُ التُّرَابُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ مِنَ الإِنْسَانِ إِلا عَجْبَ ذَنْبِهِ " ، قِيلَ : وَمَا هُوَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " مِثْلُ حَبَّةِ خَرْدَلٍ ، مِنْهُ يَنْشَأُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The whole body of a human being is consumed by the earth except for a specific part of the backbone." It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What is that thing?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is a thing as small as a mustard seed, through which he will be resurrected."
