Hadith 3107

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ بِبُسْتَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَتْبَعُ الْمَيِّتَ ثَلاثَةٌ ، فَيَرْجِعُ اثْنَانِ وَيَبْقَى وَاحِدٌ : يَتْبَعُهُ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ وَعَمَلُهُ ، فَيَرْجِعُ أَهْلُهُ وَمَالُهُ ، وَيَبْقَى عَمَلُهُ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Three things accompany the deceased; two of them return and one remains with him. His family, his wealth, and his deeds go with him; his family and his wealth return, and his deeds remain with him."
