Hadith 310

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ خَلِيلٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ جُنَاحٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْخَيْرُ عَادَةٌ ، وَالشَّرُّ لَجَاجَةٌ ، مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ " .
Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Goodness is a habit, and evil is stubbornness. Whomever Allah intends good for, He grants him understanding of the religion."
