Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the day of Eid, Marwan brought out the pulpit and delivered the sermon before performing the prayer. A man stood up and said: O Marwan! You are acting contrary to the Sunnah. You have brought out the pulpit on the day of Eid, whereas it is not brought out on this day, and you are delivering the sermon before the prayer, whereas it cannot be started with that. Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) inquired: Who is this man? The people replied: He is so-and-so, son of so-and-so. Then Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This man has fulfilled the obligatory duty upon him. Here, the narrator named Ishaq has narrated these additional words: (Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:) "Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he is not able to do so, then with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart—and that is the weakest level of faith."
