Hadith 3055

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ وَاقِدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، قَالَ : " قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْجَنَائِزِ حَتَّى تُوضَعَ ، ثُمَّ قَعَدَ .
Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand upon seeing a funeral, until it was placed (on the ground), then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sit down.
