Hadith 3042

أَخْبَرَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَسْرِعُوا بِجَنَائِزِكُمْ ، فَإِنْ تَكُ خَيْرًا تُقَدِّمُونَهَا إِلَيْهِ ، وَإِنَّ تَكُ شَرًّا تَضَعُونَهَا عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: He learned of this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Take your funerals quickly (to the graveyard), for if the deceased was righteous, you are taking him towards goodness, and if he was evil, then you are removing that evil from your necks."
