Hadith 302

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ بِبُسْتَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ أبيه ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَكُونُ فِي قَوْمٍ يَعْمَلُ فِيهُمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي ، يَقَدْرُونَ عَلَى أَنْ يُغَيِّرُوا عَلَيْهِ وَلا يُغَيِّرُوا ، إِلا أَصَابَهُمُ الِلَّهِ بِعِقَابٍ قَبْلُ أَنْ يَمُوتُوا " .
Ubaidullah bin Jarir narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whenever sins begin to be committed among a people and they are able to stop them but do not do so, then Allah sends punishment upon all of them before they die."
