باب الصدق والأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر - ذكر استحقاق القوم الذين لا يأمرون بالمعروف ولا ينهون عن المنكر عن قدرة منهم عليه عموم العقاب من الله جل وعلا-Chapter on Truthfulness and Enjoining Good and Forbidding Evil – Those able to enjoin good and forbid evil but neglect it deserve Allah’s general punishment.
Hadith 300

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ أبيه ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهُمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي يَقَدْرُونَ أَنْ يُغَيِّرُوا عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا يُغَيِّرُوا ، إِلا أَصَابَهُمُ الِلَّهِ بِعِقَابٍ قَبْلُ أَنْ يَمُوتُوا " .
Abdullah bin Jarir narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Whenever sins begin to be committed among a people and they are able to stop them but do not do so, then Allah the Exalted sends punishment upon all of them before they die."
