Hadith 2998

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ بِبُسْتَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَذَا ابْنُ آدَمَ ، وَهَذَا أَجَلُهُ " وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عِنْدَ قَفَاهُ ، ثُمَّ بَسَطَ يَدَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " وَثَمَّ أَمَلُهُ وَثَمَّ أَمَلُهُ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is the son of Adam and this is his death." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his blessed hand on the back of his neck and then brought his hand forward. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "And here is his hope, and here is his hope."
