Hadith 2981

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى بِعَسْكَرِ مُكْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " أَلا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِخِيَارِكُمْ " ، قَالُوا : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " خِيَارُكُمْ أَطْوَلُكُمْ أَعْمَارًا ، وَأَحْسَنُكُمْ أَعْمَالا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Shall I not tell you about the best among you?" The people said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The best among you are those whose lives are long and whose deeds are good."
