أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مِنْهَالُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، إِذَا عَادَ مَرِيضًا جَلَسَ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ سَبْعَ مِرَارٍ : " أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْعَظِيمَ ، رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ ، أَنْ يَشْفِيكَ " ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فِي أَجَلِهِ تَأْخِيرٌ ، عُوفِيَ مِنْ وَجَعِهِ ذَلِكَ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) visited a sick person, he would sit at his bedside and recite this seven times: "I ask Allah the Magnificent, Lord of the Magnificent Throne, to grant you healing." If the person's final moment was delayed, he would be granted well-being from that illness.
