Hadith 2948

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَصْرٍ التَّمَّارُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سِنَانٍ ، قَالَ : دَفَنْتُ ابْنِي وَمَعِي أَبُو طَلْحَةَ الْخَوْلانِيُّ عَلَى شَفِيرِ الْقَبْرِ ، فَلَمَّا أَرَدْتُ الْخُرُوجَ أَخَذَ بِيَدِي فَأَخْرَجَنِي ، وَقَالَ : أَلا أُبَشِّرُكَ ؟ حَدَّثَنِي الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَرْزَبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا مَاتَ وَلَدُ الْعَبْدِ الْمُؤْمِنِ قَالَ اللَّهُ لِلْمَلائِكَةِ : قَبَضْتُمْ وَلَدَ عَبْدِي ؟ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : قَبَضْتُمْ ثَمَرَةَ فُؤَادِهِ ؟ قَالُوا : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَمَا قَالَ ؟ قَالُوا : اسْتَرْجَعَ وَحَمِدَكَ ، قَالَ : أَبَنُوا لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ ، وَسَمُّوهُ بَيْتَ الْحَمْدِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَبُو طَلْحَةَ الْخَوْلانِيُّ هَذَا اسْمُهُ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ مِنْ سَادَاتِ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ ، رَوَى عَنْهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، وَأَهْلُ بَلَدِهِ ، وَأَبُو سِنَانٍ هَذَا هُوَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ قَدِمَ الْبَصْرَةَ ، فَكَتَبَ عَنْهُ الْبَصْرِيُّونَ ، اسْمُهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ وَأَبُو سِنَانٍ الْكُوفِيُّ ضِرَارُ بْنُ مُرَّةَ .
A narrator named Abu Sinan says: I buried my son, and Abu Talhah Khawlani was present with me at the edge of the grave. When I was about to come out of the grave, he held my hand and helped me out and said: Shall I not give you glad tidings? This hadith has reached me that Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a believing servant's son passes away, Allah Almighty says to the angels: Did you take the soul of my servant's child? The angels reply: Yes. Allah Almighty says: Did you seize the fruit of his heart (meaning a piece of his liver)? The angels say: Yes. Allah Almighty asks: What did my servant say then? The angels say: He recited 'Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un' and praised You. So Allah Almighty says: Build a house in Paradise for this person and name it 'Bayt al-Hamd' (the House of Praise)."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says: The narrator named Abu Talhah Khawani's name is Na'eem bin Ziyad, and he is among the leaders of the people of Syria. From him, Mu'awiyah bin Salih and other people of his city have narrated traditions. The narrator named Abu Sinan is Shaybani. He came to Basra. The people of Basra recorded hadiths from him. His name is Sa'id bin Sinan, while the narrator named Abu Sinan Kufi's name is Dhirar bin Murrah.)
