Hadith 2946

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى بِعَسْكَرِ مُكْرَمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ مَاتَ لَهُ ثَلاثَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " ، قَالَ : قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَابْنَانِ ؟ قَالَ : " وَابْنَانِ " ، قَالَ مَحْمُودٌ : قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي لأَرَاكُمْ لَوْ قُلْتُمْ وَاحِدًا ، لَقَالَ وَاحِدًا قَالَ : وَاللَّهِ أَظُنُّ ذَلِكَ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Whoever has three children die, he will enter Paradise." The narrator says: We asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! What if there are two children? The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: If there are two (he will also receive the same reward and recompense). The narrator named Mahmood says: I asked Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both): I think you people should have also asked, what if there is one? Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would have said, if there is one (he will also receive this reward and recompense). So Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah! I also think the same.
