Hadith 2925

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْ سَقَمٍ ، وَلا وَجَعٍ يُصِيبُ الْمُؤْمِنَ ، إِلا كَانَ كَفَّارَةٌ لِذَنْبِهِ حَتَّى الشَّوْكَةُ يُشَاكُهَا وَالنَّكْبَةُ يُنْكَبُهَا " .
Sayyida Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whatever illness or hardship befalls a believer, it becomes an expiation for his sins, even if it is a thorn that pricks him or any sharp thing that harms him (these too become expiation).
