Hadith 2917

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَرُوبَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا قَالَ لِشَيْءٍ قَسَمَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا عَدْلَ فِي هَذَا ؟ قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : وَاللَّهِ لأُخْبِرَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ، فَقَالَ : " يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ مُوسَى ، قَدْ كَانَ يُصِيبُهُ أَشَدُّ مِنْ هَذَا ، ثُمَّ يَصْبِرُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed something, and a man said about it: "Justice was not done in this." The narrator says: I said, "By Allah! I will surely inform Allah's Messenger about this." I informed the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "May Allah have mercy on Sayyiduna Musa (peace be upon him); he was harmed with more than this, but still he remained patient."
