Hadith 2909

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِهَا لَمَمٌ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَشْفِيَنِي ، قَالَ : " إِنْ شِئْتِ دَعَوْتُ اللَّهَ لَكِ فَشَفَاكَ ، وَإِنْ شِئْتِ فَاصْبِرِي وَلا حِسَابَ عَلَيْكِ " ، فَقَالَتْ : بَلْ أَصْبِرُ وَلا حِسَابَ عَلَيَّ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A woman came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him); she was suffering from epilepsy. She said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Please supplicate to Allah Almighty that He grants me cure. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you wish, I will supplicate to Allah Almighty for you and He will grant you cure, and if you wish, then be patient, and you will not be taken to account. She said: I will be patient, so that I am not taken to account.
