Hadith 2896

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " عَجَبًا لأَمْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِنَّ أَمْرَهُ كُلَّهُ خَيْرٌ ، إِنْ أَصَابَتْهُ سَرَّاءُ شَكَرَ ، وَإِنَّ أَصَابَتْهُ ضَرَّاءُ صَبَرَ ، وَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُ ، وَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ لأَحَدٍ إِلا لِلْمُؤْمِنِ " .
Sayyiduna Suhaib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "The affair of the believing servant is astonishing; his matter is good in every situation. If he receives good news, he is grateful. If he faces distress, he is patient, and that too is better for him. This quality is possessed only by the believer."
