Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) led the prayer at the place of "Dhi Qarad." The people formed two rows behind him; one row remained behind the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the other row faced the enemy. The row that was close to the Prophet (peace be upon him), he led them in one rak'ah, then these people moved to the place of their companions, and those people came to their place. The Prophet (peace be upon him) also led them in one rak'ah, and these people did not make up the prayer (i.e., they did not perform the second rak'ah).
