Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: A woman came to her and said: May Allah grant you salvation from the punishment of the grave. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) presented this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): Will people be put to trial in the grave? The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: I seek refuge with Allah from this. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) went outside, and during that time, there was a solar eclipse, so we came towards the chamber, and the women gathered with us. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came; this was at the time of forenoon. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stood and performed the prayer; he stood for a long time, then he bowed, then he raised his head, then he stood again, but this standing was shorter than the previous one, then he bowed, and this bowing was shorter than the previous one, then he prostrated, then he stood up to perform the second rak'ah and performed it in the same manner, except that his bowing was shorter than the previous bowing, then he went into prostration, and during this, the sun became bright again. When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) completed the prayer, he sat on the pulpit and during the sermon, he also said: "People will be put to such a trial in their graves which will be like the trial of the Dajjal." Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: After that, I always heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.
