Hadith 2831

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُعَافَى الْعَابِدُ بِصَيدَا ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ جَوْصَا ، بِدِمَشْقَ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْقُرَشِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، صَلَّى يَوْمَ كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: On the day when the solar eclipse occurred, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) performed the prayer with four bowings (ruku) and four prostrations (sujood) in two units (rak'ahs).
