Hadith 2818

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، خَرَجَ يَوْمَ فِطْرٍ ، أَوْ أَضْحًى ، فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ ، وَلَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلَهَا وَلا بَعْدَهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) went out on the day of Eid al-Fitr, or perhaps Eid al-Adha, and he led the people in two rak‘ahs. Then, after completing the prayer, he did not perform any (optional prayer) before or after it.
