Hadith 281

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيَمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ جَدِّي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ بِلالَ بْنَ الْحَارِثِ الْمُزَنِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ رِضْوَانِ اللَّهِ ، مَا يَظُنُّ أَنَّهَا تَبْلُغُ مَا بَلَغَتْ ، فَيَكْتُبُ الِلَّهِ لَهُ بِهَا رِضْوَانَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ ، وَإِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَيَتَكَلَّمُ بِالْكَلِمَةِ مِنْ سَخَطِ اللَّهِ ، مَا يَظُنُّ أَنَّهَا تَبْلُغُ مَا بَلَغَتْ ، فَيَكْتُبُ الِلَّهِ بِهَا سَخَطَهُ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَاهُ " .
Sayyiduna Bilal bin Harith Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, one of you says a word that is pleasing to Allah, and he does not realize how far it will reach, but Allah records His pleasure for him because of that word until the day he will meet Allah. And a person says a word that is displeasing to Allah: he does not realize how far it will reach, but Allah records His displeasure for him because of that word until the day he will meet Allah.”
