Hadith 2783

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ زَبِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، قال : " صَلاةُ السَّفَرِ ، وَصَلاةُ الْفِطْرِ ، وَصَلاةُ الأَضْحَى ، وَصَلاةُ الْجُمُعَةِ رَكْعَتَانِ تَمَامٌ ، غَيْرُ قَصْرٍ عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The prayer of travel, the prayer of Eid al-Fitr, the prayer of Eid al-Adha, and the Friday prayer are two rak'ahs, and this is a complete prayer; there is no shortening in it. This matter is established from the words of your Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
