Hadith 277

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيَمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْجُوزَجَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ وَاقَدْ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ : أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَرْضَى اللَّهَ بِسَخَطِ النَّاسِ كَفَاهُ الِلَّهِ ، وَمَنْ أَسْخَطَ اللَّهَ بِرِضَا النَّاسِ وَكَلَهُ الِلَّهِ إِلَى النَّاسِ " .
Sayyidah Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever pleases Allah while displeasing the people, Allah becomes sufficient for him; and whoever displeases Allah to please the people, Allah hands him over to the people."
