Hasan bin Muhammad says that Ibn Jarir said to me: O Hasan! Your grandfather Ubaidullah bin Buwazid narrated this hadith to me from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them). Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: A man came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Last night I saw a dream as if I was praying behind a tree. I saw that I recited a verse of prostration (Ayat al-Sajdah), and I saw the tree; it too was prostrating like my prostration. I heard it saying in the state of prostration: "O Allah! For this, record a reward for me in Your presence, and store it for me as a treasure with You, and remove my sin because of it, and accept it from me just as You accepted it from Your servant, Sayyiduna Dawud (peace be upon him)." The narrator says: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recite a verse of prostration, and I heard him in the state of prostration reciting the same words that the man had mentioned regarding the speech of the tree.
