Hadith 2753

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ لا يُصَلِّي فِي السَّفَرِ قَبْلَهَا وَلا بَعْدُ " ، يُرِيدُ قَبْلَ الْفَرَائِضِ وَلا بَعْدَهَا " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform any prayer before or after (the obligatory prayer) during travel. (The narrator says:) What was meant by this is that he did not perform any (Sunnah or Nafl prayer) before or after the obligatory prayers.
