Hadith 271

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " اضْمَنُوا لِي سِتًّا أَضْمَنْ لَكُمُ الْجَنَّةَ : اصْدُقُوا حَدَّثْتُمْ ، وَأَوْفُوا وَعَدْتُمْ ، وَأَدُّوا ائْتُمِنْتُمْ ، وَاحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَكُمْ ، وَغُضُّوا أَبْصَارَكُمْ ، وَكُفُّوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Guarantee me six things, and I will guarantee you Paradise: When you speak, speak the truth; when you make a promise, fulfill it; when something is entrusted to you, discharge that trust. Guard your private parts, lower your gaze, and restrain your hands."
