Hadith 2666

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، بِبُسْتَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ هِلالٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَقَالَ : إِنَّكَ قَدْ أَحْدَثْتَ ، فَلْيَقُلْ فِي نَفْسِهِ : كَذَبْتَ ، حَتَّى يَسْمَعَ صَوْتًا بِأُذُنِهِ ، أَوْ يَجِدَ رِيحًا بِأَنْفِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When Satan comes to any one of you and says, 'You have lost your wudu,' then he should say in his mind, 'You are lying,' until a person hears the sound (of passing wind) with his ear or perceives its smell with his nose (he should not perform wudu again until then)."
