Ala bin Abdur Rahman narrates: I and one of my companions went to the service of Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) after the Zuhr prayer. He inquired: Have you performed the Asr prayer? We replied: No. He said: Perform the prayer here in our room. When we finished the prayer, Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) performed a lengthy prayer. After completing his prayer, he turned towards us, and the very first thing he said to us was that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is the prayer of the hypocrites. One of them sits and waits until, when the sun is between the horns of Satan (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words) or reaches between the two horns of Satan, then he stands up and pecks four times (i.e., prays quickly), and in those rak‘ahs he remembers Allah very little."
