أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُرَحْبِيلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يُحَدِّثُ ، قَالَ : " أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَمَنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ حَتَّى نَزَلْنَا السُّقْيَا " ، فَقَالَ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ : مَنْ يَسْقِينَا ؟ قَالَ : " جَابِرٌ " ، فَخَرَجْتُ فِي فَتَيَانٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ حَتَّى أَتَيْنَا الْمَاءَ الَّذِي بِالأُثَايَةِ ، وَبَيْنَهُمَا قَرِيبٌ مِنْ ثَلاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ مِيلا ، فَسَقَيْنَا وَاسْتَقَيْنَا ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بَعْدَ عَتَمَةٍ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ يُنَازِعُهُ بَعِيرُهُ إِلَى الْحَوْضِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : أَوْرِدْ ، فَأَوْرَدَ ، فَأَخَذْتُ بِزِمَامِ رَاحِلَتِهِ فَأَنَخْتُهَا ، " فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى الْعَتَمَةَ وَجَابِرٌ إِلَى جَانِبِهِ ، فَصَلَّى ثَلاثَ عَشْرَةَ سَجْدَةً " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: During the time of Hudaybiyyah, we were coming with the Prophet (peace be upon him). We camped at the place of "Suqya." Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Who will give us water to drink? Then he (perhaps the Prophet, peace be upon him) said: Jabir! Set out with some young men of the Ansar. At the place of "Athayah," we reached the water. The distance between these two places was about 23 miles. From there, we drank water ourselves and gave our animals water to drink, until after evening a man came on his camel. His camel was struggling to go towards the pond, and he was telling it to move forward. Then it moved forward. I took hold of his mount's reins and made his camel sit down. The Prophet (peace be upon him) stood up and performed the Isha prayer. Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) was at his side. The Prophet (peace be upon him) performed thirteen rak'ahs.
