Hadith 262

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ ، أَنَّهُ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فِي دَارِهِ بِالْبَصْرَةِ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ ، قَالَ : وَدَارُهُ بِجَنْبِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَلَمَّا دَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُمُ الْعَصْرَ ؟ قُلْنَا : إِنَّمَا انْصَرَفْنَا السَّاعَةَ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ ، قَالَ : فَصَلُّوا الْعَصْرَ ، فَقُمْنَا فَصَلَّيْنَا الْعَصْرَ ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفْنَا ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " تِلْكَ صَلاةُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ ، يَجْلِسُ يَرْقُبُ الشَّمْسَ حَتَّى كَانَتْ بَيْنَ قَرْنَيِ الشَّيْطَانِ ، قَامَ فَنَقَرَهَا أَرْبَعًا ، لا يَذْكُرُ اللَّهَ فِيهَا إِلا قَلِيلا " .
Alaa bin Abdur Rahman narrates: Once, after offering the Zuhr prayer, he went to the house of Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) in Basra. The narrator states: The house of Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) was beside the mosque. When he presented himself in his service, he asked: Have you offered the Asr prayer? We replied: We have just come after offering the Zuhr prayer. So Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: You people should offer the Asr prayer! So we offered the Asr prayer. When we finished the prayer, he said: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "This is the prayer of the hypocrites. (A hypocrite) sits watching the sun. When it reaches between the two horns of Satan, then that person stands up and pecks four times (i.e., prays quickly). He remembers Allah very little in this prayer."
