Hadith 2527

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ : " هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي الضُّحَى؟ " ، فَقَالَتْ: " لا ، إِلا أَنْ يَجِيءَ مِنْ مَغِيبِهِ " . قُلْتُ: قُلْتُ: " هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا؟ " ، قَالَتْ: " نَعَمْ ، بَعْدَمَا حَطَمَهُ السِّنُّ " . قُلْتُ: قُلْتُ: " هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرِنُ بَيْنَ السُّوَرِ؟ " ، قَالَتْ: " نَعَمْ ، مِنَ الْمُفَصَّلِ " . قُلْتُ: قُلْتُ: " هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ شَهْرًا مَعْلُومًا سِوَى رَمَضَانَ؟ " ، قَالَتْ: " وَاللَّهِ إِنْ صَامَ شَهْرًا مَعْلُومًا سِوَى رَمَضَانَ حَتَّى مَضَى لِوَجْهِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَلا أَفْطَرَهُ حَتَّى مَضَى لِوَجْهِهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Abdullah bin Shaqiq (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): Did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) use to perform prayer at the time of Duha? She replied: No, but if he returned from a journey (then on that occasion he would perform prayer at that time). I asked: Did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) perform prayer while sitting? She said: Yes! When he became old (he would perform prayer while sitting). I asked: Did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recite combined surahs? She replied: Yes! He would recite the Mufassal surahs (combined). I asked: Did the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) fast in any specific month other than the month of Ramadan? She replied: By Allah! The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) did not fast in any specific month other than Ramadan, until he departed from this world, nor did he ever abandon fasting in any month until he departed from this world.
