باب الاعتصام بالسنة وما يتعلق بها نقلا وأمرا وزجرا - ذكر الخبر الدال على أن من اعترض على السنن بالتأويلات المضمحلة ولم ينقد لقبولها كان من أهل البدع-Chapter: Holding fast to the Sunnah – Narration indicating that those who reject the Sunnah with weak interpretations are innovators.

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نُعْمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : بَعَثَ عَلِيٌّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْيَمَنِ بِذَهَبٍ فِي أُدُمٍ ، فَقَسَمَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْنَ زَيْدِ الْخَيْلِ ، وَالأَقْرَعِ بْنِ حَابِسٍ ، وَعُيَيْنَةَ بْنِ حِصْنٍ ، وَعَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ عُلاثَةَ ، فَقَالَ أُنَاسٌ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالأَنْصَارِ : نَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِهَذَا ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَشَقَّ عَلَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ : " أَلا تَأْمَنُونِي وَأَنَا أَمِينُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ ، يَأْتِينِي خَبَرُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ صَبَاحًا وَمَسَاءً ؟ " فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ نَاتِئُ الْعَيْنَيْنِ ، مُشْرِفُ الْوَجْنَتَيْنِ ، نَاشِزُ الْوَجْهِ كَثُّ اللِّحْيَةِ ، مَحْلُوقُ الرَّأْسِ ، مُشَمَّرُ الإِزَارِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، اتَّقِ اللَّهَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَوَ لَسْتُ بِأَحَقِّ أَهْلِ الأَرْضِ أَنْ أَتَّقِيَ اللَّهَ ؟ " ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ خَالِدٌ سَيْفُ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَلا أَضْرِبُ عُنُقَهُ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : " لا ، إِنَّهُ لَعَلَّهُ يُصَلِّي " ، قَالَ : إِنَّهُ رُبَّ مُصَلٍّ يَقُولُ بِلِسَانِهِ مَا لَيْسَ فِي قَلْبِهِ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَمْ أُومَرْ أَنْ أَشُقَّ قُلُوبَ النَّاسِ ، وَلا أَشُقَّ بُطُونَهُمْ " ، فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ مُقَفٍّ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّهُ سَيَخْرُجُ مِنْ ضِئْضِئِ هَذَا قَوْمٌ يَتْلُونَ كِتَابَ اللَّهِ لا يُجَاوِزُ حَنَاجِرَهُمْ ، يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهُمْ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ " ، قَالَ عُمَارَةُ فَحَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : لَئِنْ أَدْرَكْتُهُمْ لأَقْتُلَنَّهُمْ قَتْلَ ثَمُودَ .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) sent some gold in a leather container from Yemen to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed that gold among Zaid Khail, Aqra' bin Habis, 'Uyainah bin Hisn, and Alqamah bin 'Ulathah.
Some people from among the Muhajirun and Ansar said: "We were more deserving of this." When this was reported to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it was hard on him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Do you not trust me, even though I am the trustee of the One who is in the heavens? News from the One who is in the heavens comes to me morning and evening."
(The narrator says:) Then a man with small eyes, prominent cheeks, a narrow forehead, a thick beard, a shaven head, and his lower garment raised, stood before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said: "O Messenger of Allah! Fear Allah."
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Am I not the most deserving among all the people of the earth to fear Allah?" Then that man went away, so the sword of Allah, Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him), got up and moved towards him. He said: "O Messenger of Allah! Shall I not strike his neck?"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, perhaps he is one who performs prayer." Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "There are those who pray, but they say with their tongues what is not in their hearts." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I have not been commanded to cut open people's hearts or split open their bellies."
Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked towards that man as he was going back, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon, from his progeny, there will arise people who will recite the Book of Allah, but it will not go beyond their throats, and they will go out of the religion just as an arrow passes through its target."
The narrator named 'Ammarah states: I think, in the narration, these words are also present. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If I live to see their time, I will kill them as the people of Thamud were killed."
