Hadith 2443

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَصِينٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ وَثَّابٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ وِتْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : " كُلُّ اللَّيْلِ قَدْ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَوَّلُهُ وَأَوْسَطُهُ ، فَانْتَهَى وِتْرُهُ حِينَ مَاتَ إِلَى السَّحَرِ " .
Saruq narrates: I asked Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about the Witr prayer of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): She replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform Witr during every part of the night, in the early part, the middle part, and the last part. When he passed away, the last time he would perform Witr was just before the true dawn.
