Hadith 2420

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَوْفَى ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا مَرِضَ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، صَلَّى مِنَ النَّهَارِ ثِنْتَيْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) became ill, he did not perform the night nawafil (voluntary prayers). The next day, during the daytime, he performed twelve rak'ahs.
