Hadith 2404

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ مُعَاذٌ يُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ فَيَؤُمُّ قَوْمَهُ ، فَيُصَلِّي بِهِمْ تِلْكَ الصَّلاةَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform prayer behind the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then he would return and lead his own people in prayer; he would lead them in that same prayer.
