Hadith 2391

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْبُسْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " تُعَادُ الصَّلاةُ مِنْ مَمَرِّ الْحِمَارِ ، وَالْمَرْأَةِ ، وَالْكَلْبِ الأَسْوَدِ " ، قُلْتُ : مَا بَالُ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الأَصْفَرِ مِنَ الأَحْمَرِ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي ، فَقَالَ : " الْكَلْبُ الأَسْوَدُ شَيْطَانٌ " .
Abdullah bin Samit narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a donkey, a woman, or a black dog passes in front of a person praying, he should repeat his prayer." The narrator says: I asked, "Why a black dog? Why not a yellow or red one?" So Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: I also asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) the same question that you have asked me, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The black dog is a devil."
