Awn bin Abu Juhaifah narrates from his father: I was present with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) at Batha. At that time, you were in a red tent. There were some people with you. Then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came. He gave the call to prayer (adhan), and while giving the adhan, he turned his face this way and that way. The narrator Sufyan says: That is, he did so while saying «حی علی الصلوۃ» and «حی علی الفلاح». The narrator says: Then he came out with the leftover water from the ablution of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), so some people got that water and some did not, until a young boy inserted his hand from under the arms of the people and reached that water. Then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) planted a spear in front of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (the Prophet faced it and started performing prayer). Then it was not being forbidden for a donkey, woman, or dog to pass from the other side of it. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) led two rak‘ahs in the Zuhr prayer, and then continued to perform two rak‘ahs until he arrived in Madinah Munawwarah.
