أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : أَهْدَى أَبُو جَهْمِ بْنُ حُذَيْفَةَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَمِيصَةً شَامِيَّةً لَهَا عَلَمٌ ، فَشَهِدَ فِيهَا الصَّلاةَ ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ " رُدِّي هَذِهِ الْخَمِيصَةَ إِلَى أَبِي جَهْمٍ ، فَإِنِّي نَظَرْتُ إِلَى عَلَمِهَا فِي الصَّلاةِ فَكَادَتْ تَفْتِنُنِي " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Juhm bin Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) presented a Syrian cloak with patterns on it as a gift to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wore that cloak and performed prayer. When he finished the prayer, he said: Take this cloak back to Abu Juhm. During the prayer, when my gaze fell upon its patterns, I feared that my attention would become distracted.
