Hadith 2300

أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ الشَّعِيرِيُّ ، بِالْمَوْصِلِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَزْرَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى بِنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ قَدْ خَالَفَ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلاَّهَا كَذَلِكَ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) led us in prayer wearing a single garment, the ends of which he had thrown over his shoulders in opposite directions. He stated this: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also led prayer in this manner.
