Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about performing prayer in a single garment, so he asked: Does each one of you have two garments? When the era of Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) came, he said: When Allah grants abundance, then you people should adopt abundance. A man should gather his clothes (i.e., perform prayer wearing two different things): in an izar and a sheet, or an izar and a shirt, or an izar and a qaba, or trousers and a sheet, or trousers and a shirt, or trousers and a qaba. The narrator named Hisham says: I think he also mentioned pajamas.
