Sayyiduna Ali bin Taliq Hanafi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person passes wind during prayer, he should go back, perform ablution, and repeat the prayer. And do not have intercourse with women in their back passage." The narrator did not mention the words "then he should repeat his prayer"—only the narrator named Jaleel has reported these words. This was stated by Imam Abu Hatim. And in this is evidence that it is not permissible for a person who has lost his ablution to continue building upon his prayer.
