Ibn Hibban

Abdullah bin Suwaid Ansari narrates from his paternal aunt, Sayyida Umm Humayd, who was the wife of Sayyiduna Abu Humayd Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him). She states: She presented herself before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I like to perform prayer behind you. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I know that you like to perform prayer behind me, however, your prayer in the innermost part of your house is better than your prayer in your room (the room closer to the outside), and your prayer in your sitting room is better than your prayer in your neighborhood mosque, and your prayer in your neighborhood mosque is better than your prayer in my mosque. The narrator says: Following this guidance, a place was designated for her in the farthest and darkest corner of her house for prayer, and she continued to pray there for the rest of her life.
