Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) and Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) heard some sounds. He inquired: What are these sounds? The people replied: People are grafting date palms.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If they do not do this, it would be better.
(The narrator says) So the people refrained from this action. That year, they did not graft, and the yield was not good. When this was mentioned to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: If it is a worldly matter of yours, then you should handle it yourselves, and if it is a religious matter, then it will come to me.
