Hadith 2146

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، وأبي سلمة ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلاةُ فَائْتُوهَا وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ ، فَصَلُّوا مَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ ، وَمَا سُبِقْتُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When the prayer has been established, then come to it calmly, walking with tranquility. Whatever part of the prayer you catch, perform it, and whatever has passed, complete it (afterwards)."
