Hadith 208

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هَانِئٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الْجَنْبِيِّ ، عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى الِلَّهِ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَال : " الِلَّهِمْ مَنْ آمَنَ بِكَ ، وَشَهِدَ أَنِّي رَسُولُكَ ، فَحَبِّبْ إِلَيْهِ لِقَاءَكَ ، وَسَهِّلْ عَلَيْهِ قَضَاءَكَ ، وَأَقْلِلْ لَهُ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنْ بِكَ وَلَمْ يَشْهَدْ أَنِّي رَسُولُكَ ، فَلا تُحَبِّبْ إِلَيْهِ لِقَاءَكَ ، وَلا تُسَهِّلْ عَلَيْهِ قَضَاءَكَ ، وَأَكْثِرْ لَهُ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا " .
Sayyiduna Fadala bin Ubaid (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "O Allah! Whoever believes in You and bears witness that I am Your Messenger, make the meeting with You beloved to him, make Your decree (i.e., death) easy for him, and make the world little for him. And whoever does not believe in You and does not bear witness that I am Your Messenger, do not make the meeting with You beloved to him, do not make Your decree (i.e., his death) easy for him, and increase for him the worries and difficulties of (this) world."
