Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him: "Offering prayer in congregation has twenty-five times more virtue than a man offering prayer alone." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) This is the narration about which we have already stated in our books that the Arabs sometimes mention something along with a specific limited number, but by mentioning this number, it is not meant that numbers other than this are negated. Therefore, from this statement of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, it is not meant that the worshipper does not receive more reward in his prayer than what is mentioned in the narration transmitted from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him.
