Hadith 2045

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا عُشَّانَةَ ، حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِذَا تَطَهَّرَ الرَّجُلُ ، ثُمَّ أَتَى الْمَسْجِدَ يَرْعَى الصَّلاةَ ، كَتَبَ لَهُ كَاتِبَاهُ بِكُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ يَخْطُوهَا إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : أَبُو عُشَّانَةَ اسْمُهُ : حَيُّ بْنُ يُؤْمِنَ مِنْ ثِقَاتِ أَهْلِ فُسْطَاطِ مِصْرَ .
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates the statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "When a person performs ablution and then comes towards the mosque to guard the prayer, both of his recording angels write ten good deeds for every step he takes towards the mosque." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu Ashanah is Hiyy bin Yuman, and he is a trustworthy narrator from the city of Fustat in Egypt.
